Victoria Beica - International Business, class of 2021

Tell us about your background and why you chose to study your Master’s at Uppsala University.

I did my Bachelor’s degree in International Business in Kalmar at the School of Business & Economics, Linnaeus University. I chose Uppsala University partly for the acknowledged research within International Business, but also for the unique opportunities to do an internship or to study abroad during one semester of the Programme.

What is your impression of the Master’s Programme so far? What do you appreciate the most about the education?

The courses are provided by very competent and experienced professors, which in turn gives us students great opportunities to learn and acquire highly relevant knowledge during our studies. The Programme overall, has a good balance of theory and practice which enables you to exercise your analytical thinking in connection to your prospect career aspirations.

What are you goals for the future?

At the moment, I am doing an internship as a Management Consultant Intern within Human Capital Strategy. I believe that people are what brings value into business and I hope to be able to work with helping organisations realising that fact. I really enjoy my internship where I get to meet new people, travel a lot and learn new things every day, so my goal for the closest future is to take on a role within consulting in this field.

What suggestions would you like to give other prospective students that are interested in applying for a Master’s Programme in Business Studies at Uppsala University?

Be proactive, ask questions and make sure to manage your time effectively. If you are able to structure your studies, there is a lot of time to explore the enjoyable student life in Uppsala. I believe that there are different ways to get experience, if you can, combine your studies with a job that is of interest for you in the future. And most important thing of all; don’t forget to have fun along the way!
